Check out the following bite-sized profile of our Camp Wellstone alum, Darcy Burner.

We start with Darcy Burner, a Camp Wellstone alum who is running for United States Congress from Washington state.

Darcy actually came to Camp Wellstone like a lot of candidates that come through our training. She'd never run for office before and she certainly wasn't a career politician.  She's a mom and a business woman and just wanted to step up and run for office to represent her community.  She first ran in 2006 and lost narrowly, and she's running again for the seat this year.

The race this year is really tight, and the New York Times has categorized this race as a toss-up - too close to call.

But recent polls have shown that she seems to be pulling ahead of her opponent, Dave Reichert, probably because her progressive message of change is resonating with voters in her district. 

Darcy is in great company with over 300 Wellstone Action alumni running for office all across the country.
